Gary Speed, 42, was the manager of the Welsh national football team who hanged himself on November 27, 2011 at his home in Cheshire. The inquest was adjourned until January 30, 2012 at Cheshire Coroner's Court.
The coroner was Mr. Nicholas Rheinberg, said he cannot be satisfied he intended to kill himself. Mr. Rheinberg reached a narrative verdict and stated that cause of death was by "self suspension", but that there was insufficient evidence to determine whether it was intentional as he may have intended to make a "dramatic gesture" and then "nodded off to sleep"
Coroner's verdict: Suicide by hanging.
